Partnerships in Action: How I Collaborate with Other Businesses for Client Success
In my last blog, I discussed the key to building successful business collaborations: clear goals, solid agreements, open communication and celebrating shared wins. But what does that actually look like in practice? How do these principles translate into real-world partnerships that genuinely benefit your business and, most importantly, your clients?
Today, I want to pull back the curtain a little and share how I put these principles into action every day as an Online Business Manager. I don’t operate in a silo; my work is often enhanced by trusted collaborations with other incredible businesses. For my clients, this means a seamless service, even when multiple experts are involved.
I want to highlight 2 key partnerships that exemplify how working together truly elevates what I can offer: my work with Zebra Business Solutions for copywriting and with Stepping Stone Web for website hosting.
Teaming Up for Words That Work: My Collaboration with Zebra Business Solutions
When a client needs engaging website content, persuasive sales pages, or regular, insightful blog posts, I often bring in Zoe Hughes from Zebra Business Solutions. My role as the OBM is to understand the client’s overall strategy, brand voice and specific project goals, gathering all the necessary information to understand the client’s vision and then using that to brief Zoe.
Our shared goal is always to deliver compelling copy that achieves the client’s objectives, whether that’s creating copy for a new website, refreshing copy to help with SEO, or using blogs to increase engagement and establish authority.
We achieve this through clear and consistent communication.
I act as the central point of contact, managing the project timeline and ensuring feedback loops are efficient, whereas Zoe asks questions and helps uncover the extra information necessary to get to the heart of the client’s vision and aims and turn them into reality through her copywriting.
Working together for close to a decade, we’ve developed a solid understanding of roles (mine, Zoe’s and the client’s), deadlines and quality expectations that have been built over many successful projects. This means my clients receive professional, high-quality content without me having to become a copywriter and Zoe gets clear briefs and smooth project management so she can focus on writing the right words!
Building Solid Foundations: My Partnership with Stepping Stone Web
Another vital collaboration is with Tristan Martin from Stepping Stones Web, who handles website hosting. When I’m working with clients on new website builds, migrations, or ongoing website maintenance, reliable hosting is non-negotiable. My focus is on the website’s functionality, content and user experience, while Tristan provides the robust, secure and fast technical infrastructure behind the scenes.
Our partnership is built on trust and technical expertise. I introduce clients to Stepping Stones Web, ensuring they understand the hosting aspects. I then work closely with Tristan during the website builds or migrations as his technical knowledge complements my project management and business strategy skills perfectly.
Communication is key, especially during website launches, with clear handovers and quick responses to any technical queries. This ensures clients get websites that are not only beautifully designed but also incredibly stable and well-supported, giving them complete peace of mind.
For ongoing sites, I know that any hosting issues will be handled swiftly and professionally by an expert I trust implicitly.
These Partnerships in Practice: Applying the Keys to Success
You can see how the principles from my previous blog about successful collaborations are at play here. In both cases, we define clear goals for each project, understanding what success looks like for the client.
While there are not always formal written agreements for every small task, the understanding of our responsibilities and how we work together is exceptionally clear, built on a foundation of respect and professionalism.
Open communication keeps these collaborations running smoothly, preventing misunderstandings and ensuring seamless delivery. And yes, we celebrate successes, whether it’s a glowing client testimonial for a new website or a strong conversion rate on a sales page, acknowledging our collective wins fuels enthusiasm for the next joint venture.
By carefully choosing partners like Zebra Business Solutions and Stepping Stones Web, I can offer my clients a truly comprehensive and high-quality service. It means they benefit from a wider pool of expertise, without the hassle of managing multiple suppliers themselves.
This collaborative approach allows me to focus on my core strengths as an OBM, knowing that the other essential pieces of the puzzle are in the hands of trusted experts. It’s proof that working together genuinely makes everyone stronger.
